Subsurface Buoys and Anchors
Technical Rationale
For shallow-deep applications steel buoys have been a proven and very economical option since the late 1960s.
Subsurface steel buoys attached near the bottom of the mooring line, just above the acoustic release provide reserve buoyancy enabling recovery should any part of the rigging break or if the surface buoy is lost. Bringing the mooring to the surface, the instruments and their recorded data can be rescued.
